A closure order has been granted for an address in Melksham following reports of antisocial behaviour and disorder.
Magistrates in Swindon granted the order for the address in Williams Close this morning (23/12) following an application by the Trowbridge and Melksham Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The closure order means nobody can attend the address unless specifically named on the order for the next three months.
Officers will continue to conduct regular visits to ensure the order is being adhered to.
The closure comes following several incidents in the last six weeks. A warrant was previously executed at the address earlier this month, when one man was arrested and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
PS Charly Chilton of the Trowbridge and Melksham Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Working with Aster Housing, the team have now obtained a closure order on the address, which allows only the tenants to be at the address in order to prevent further such offending and antisocial behaviour impacting the local community.
“We hope this will bring some peace of mind to the neighbours who have been affected by the recent disorder and incidents at the address and we won’t hesitate to act if the order is broken.
“The neighbourhood team are continuing to work closely with Aster Housing regarding the tenancy of this address.”
