Update: Man appears in court charged with attempted murder

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident in Swindon where a police officer was seriously injured.
Marlon Kambulu Joao, 39, of Merton Court, Eynsham, Oxfordshire, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court today (27/04).
He has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen of breath, no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence.
The offences relate to an incident on the A419 in Swindon in the early hours of yesterday (26/04).
He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on 27 May.
