Witness appeal following assault in Swindon
Main article content
We’re appealing for witnesses following an assault in Swindon last night (05/09).
It happened at around 9.30pm when a woman was walking in The Chesters Park behind Westlea Fire Station. She saw a group of white men aged between 18-21, all wearing dark clothing and on foot.
When she looked towards them, one of them asked her “have you got an issue” and continued repeating the question, even though she’d already told him that she hadn’t.
As she carried on walking, the victim says she heard footsteps behind her and when she turned around, she was confronted by one of the group as he was taking something out of his grey jogging bottoms. He then moved his arm across her body, before running away with the rest of the group.
When the victim looked down, she saw two slash marks in her t-shirt and when she got home, she found scratches on her stomach.
We’d like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who either saw what happened or saw the group of young men and may be able to identify them.
