Man arrested following disorder in Swindon

A man has been arrested following a disorder at Verwood Close, Swindon, this morning (18/09).
Officers responded at 11am to the incident where it was reported that a man had received an injury to his hand, believed to have been caused by a knife.
A 25-year-old man was detained at Bideford Close and was arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH. He has been taken to Gablecross Police Station, where he remains in custody.
Duty Inspector Louis McCoy said: “We understand that this incident, in broad daylight, would have caused concern to those living in the local area.
“We’d like to reassure people that the suspect was detained swiftly, and we are not looking for anyone else connected with this incident at this stage. A scene will remain in place for the next hour while we carry out our enquiries.
“Please be reassured that we take reports of this nature extremely seriously and will always deal as robustly and efficiently as we can.
“I’d also like to reassure people that, at this stage, we are not linking this with the incident that occurred in Walcot earlier this week.”
