The impact of the pandemic has had a devastating effect on many people throughout Wiltshire, leaving them feeling isolated, lonely and vulnerable. Sadly, we know these feelings will be felt more so than ever during Christmas.
To help remind those in need throughout our community that they are surrounded by care, compassion and support our Citizens in Policing Team at Wiltshire Police have launched a Community Christmas Appeal.
The team are asking for the public to nominate someone from Wiltshire or Swindon that they think would benefit from receiving a ‘care package’ in time for Christmas which will include a handwritten Christmas card or letter.
Our brilliant Police Support Volunteers and Special Constables will be helping support this appeal and our police cadets will be creating hanging decorations and writing Christmas cards.
Nominate someone to receive a care package.
Any surplus items will be donated to local care homes our cadets work with and the local refuges we have in Wiltshire.
Want to get involved?
If you feel able to support this cause personally by donating items for the care packages, there will be collection boxes in the Enquiry Offices at Trowbridge Police Station, Devizes Police Headquarters, Melksham Police Station and Swindon Gablecross.
Items we are looking for donations of are:
If any schools or local businesses would like to get involved and support this cause, please contact the team by emailing: [email protected]
