Security marking your phone can deter thieves and will make it harder for them to sell a stolen phone.

Keep a record of your phone's IMEI number (a 15 digit serial number) and keep it safe.

The IMEI/serial number on your phone is a number that is unique to a mobile phone. It also allows mobile phone operating companies to prevent a reported stolen handset from being used on the network.

To find out your IMEI number type *#06# into your phone.

Always use your phone's security lock. Remember where you leave your phone. Don't leave it on display in a car or on a table in a busy area.

Keep it in your pocket or handbag, locked away and out of sight.
