Officers investigating a report of a suspicious incident in Swindon yesterday (Oct 9) are appealing for information. We have received a report that a nine-year-old girl was approached by a man who made some inappropriate comments.

A man has been sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment after pleading guilty to a number of thefts in the Swindon and Marlborough areas. Ashley Lane, of no fixed abode, Swindon, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft when he appeared at court on September 17.
