A man has been sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment after pleading guilty to a number of thefts in the Swindon and Marlborough areas. Ashley Lane, of no fixed abode, Swindon, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft when he appeared at court on September 17.
Be aware of bank card scam, warn officers
Officers are urging residents to be vigilant - particularly the elderly - following two similar incidents of fraud. In both incidents, victims have received phone calls regarding an 'upgrade' to their bank cards.

We're appealing for information following a robbery in Salisbury which occurred yesterday (October 9). A man in his 30s was walking from Waitrose in the direction of Ashley Road at approximately 7.30pm, when he was approached by four men in the middle of the underpass.

Eleven more people have been arrested today as the Force cracks down on county lines drugs gangs. Approximately 50 officers are involved in the operation and today's arrests takes the total this week to 33.
Partial closure order granted for Chippenham address following cuckooing concerns
Officers have successfully gained a partial closure order for a Chippenham address due to concerns that the occupant was being cuckooed by drugs gangs. The order was sought for an address in Milbourne Way and was granted by Swindon Magistrates today.
Positive step forward for policing
The Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable have welcomed today's confirmation of additional police numbers in Wiltshire, as the first wave of 20,000 new officers was announced by the Government.
