Police dogs Betty and Rudi welcomed to the force with presentation event
Wiltshire Police has welcomed two new police dogs to the force - introducing Betty and Rudi. The two German Shepherds successfully passed their 13 week training course, and were presented with their licences by Superintendent Mark Sellers at police headquarters alongside their handlers PC Cindy Hargreave and PC Tracy Doughty on Friday.
Abnormal load may cause delays on the roads throughout Wiltshire next week
Road users in the Westbury, Trowbridge, Melksham and Chippenham areas of Wiltshire may experience delays on Monday 15 April. An abnormal load is to leave Brook Lane, Westbury at 11 am and travel along the B3097 to Trowbridge, where it will join the A350 before travelling onwards through both Melksham and Chippenham to the M4 at Junction 17.
Warminster man ordered to pay over £130,000 following Proceeds of Crime hearing
A Warminster man has been ordered to pay over £130,000 after he was sentenced for drug offences in 2017. Jack Pearce, aged 38, formerly of Sutton Veny, Warminster, is currently serving a four year and 10 month prison sentence for possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, as well as money laundering.
Three arrested on suspicion of drug offences near Melksham
Three people were arrested near Melksham (08/04) yesterday on suspicion of a number of offences including possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. At around 6am, officers were travelling along the A350 from Melksham towards Semington when they became aware of a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner.
