The Trust's security operators are made up of skilled carpenters and lock fitters who are Home Office trained Crime Reduction Officers, and are well versed in giving support and advice to victims of crime.
They visit and assess the needs of the client by means of a security check and fire risk assessment, address any concerns, and give verbal advice on rogue traders and scams, etc. Operators can also install a variety of security devices including:
Although the Trust visits people referred by Wiltshire Police, who have unfortunately been victims of crime, one of its main aims is prevention. The Trust does this by undertaking preventative visits - ensuring homes are secured against potential burglaries and enabling people by providing security advice.
