Deb grew up in Cornwall and spent her younger years representing her county at trampolining, spending time with her horse and making the most of living next to the beach.

Before joining Wiltshire Police in 1999, Deb attended university where she graduated with a first class BA (Hons) in Management and French. This led to Deb living and working in France for 18 months.

During her time with Wiltshire Police, Deb has been a Detective Constable, Detective Sergeant and Detective Inspector within CID, as well as a Community Safety Inspector and Detective Chief Inspector within Volume Crime.

In May 2015 Deb was seconded to Operation Hydrant as the Deputy National Coordinator, and on return to Force in December 2016 became T/Detective Superintendent, where she took up the role of Head of Crime.

Deb is married to Sergeant Mark Smith and they have a nine year old daughter. In her spare time Deb enjoys running, cycling, travel and spending quality time with friends and family.
