Clare Mills started her career in policing in 1999 in Northamptonshire. She joined Wiltshire Police in 2007 and in 2012 was promoted to her current role. Clare heads up a shared service team of communications professionals across the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Wiltshire Police. She is responsible for the strategic development of the internal, external and digital communications and engagement approach and leads on Reward and Recognition too, on behalf of both organisations.
Clare leads the communications for critical incidents, gold groups and other strategic issues and ensures that media, public relations, internal staff engagement and digital communications are managed and delivered effectively and efficiently.
Clare is a Vice Chair for the Association of Police Communicators (APComm), which represents all specialist police communicators working to support the police service.
