  • Fire in Chippenham - appeal for witnesses

    We were called to a fire in Chippenham yesterday and are appealing to the public for any information. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service initially made us aware of the incident in the early hours of November 17.

    A man was arrested in Royal Wootton Bassett last night on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place. Shortly after 10.30pm on November 14, we received calls that a man had been seen in the High Street carrying a weapon.

  • Purton woman sentenced for multiple offences including drink driving and assaulting police officers

    A woman from Purton has been sentenced after pleading guilty to drink driving, failing to stop and assaulting emergency workers. Sarah Michalek, 31, of Cowleaze, appeared in Swindon Magistrates Court today and pleaded guilty to the following offences: -Drink driving -Failing to stop following a road collision -Assault of an emergency worker x 3 -Use threatening or abusive words/behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress -Child neglect
