Cash, drugs and weapons have been seized and 12 more people have been arrested today (22/01) as officers tackle county lines drugs gangs in Swindon. The raids have been carried out as part of Operation Samphire, a week of action targeting drug networks across the town.
Officers conducting a series of drugs warrants in Swindon yesterday (21/01) also made an extra three non-related arrests. While out on Operation Samphire patrols and raids, officers stopped a vehicle in the High Street, Wroughton. The driver was found to be wanted for two counts of theft. Christopher Simpkins, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of theft from a shop and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.
We've arrested 10 more people today (21/01) as part of a series of raids cracking down on county lines drugs gangs. Officers from across the Force have been targeting those involved in the supply of class A drugs in Swindon over the past two days. Yesterday, seven people were arrested and more than £20,000 worth of class A drugs were seized during warrants at various locations across the town including Abbey Meads, Parks and the town centre.
