PC Richard SalterName: PC Richard Salter

About me:

My name is Richard Salter and I have worked for Wiltshire Police since 1994. I have a solid background in Community Policing having worked operationally in both a city and rural environment prior to this appointment. I believe that community based policing is the most effective way to police a rural community and am delighted to take on the role as Community Beat Manager for Mere District. My villages also include Kilmington, Sedgehill, Semley, Zeals, Stourton, Gasper and The Knoyles.

When using King Alfred's Tower car park in Stourton please can you make sure that you do not leave any valuables in your vehicle or on obvious display.

Please ensure that your vehicle is locked & secured and together we can crack crime.

The Policing Pledge, local priorities and follow up actions

PDF Document Click here to view the Policing Pledge

Consultation with the local community is at the heart of successful neighbourhood policing and it is this engagement that will determine the priorities for the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and partner agencies. As a result each NPT has identified the three main priorities* for their neighbourhood and these have been listed below along with follow up actions by the police:

  • THEFT - KING ALFRED'S TOWER C/P
Police and partnership activity is being planned and undertaken on this priority and a full update will be provided in due course
  • ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR - THE OLD SHIP HOTEL, MERE
Police and partnership activity is being planned and undertaken on this priority and a full update will be provided in due course

*A priority may be for a certain area of your NPT. The same priority in different areas will only appear once.
For more information, please contact your Community Beat Manager.
