The next Special Constable Awareness Event is to be held on Saturday 21st November 2009 at Devizes HQ (Click here for a location map for Devizes HQ) starting at 10:00. Anyone interested in becoming a Special Constable can book a place at the event by completing the on line booking form below.

Attendees will need to bring proof of identity in the form of photographic ID (i.e. passport or driving license) as well as their confirmation of attendance receipt.

The presentation will last roughly an hour and will cover all aspects of being a Special Constable, the recruitment process and the training required.

As part of the awareness event, after the main presentation, we will also run Question & Answer sessions for attendees to raise any particular queries to our Special Constables and other members of the recruitment team. These Q & A sessions will be running simultaneously and one of these will also include information on:

  • The language standards required and support available (for individuals that speak English as a second language)
  • How cultural or faith needs and potential concerns are met in the Force
  • Support groups and Force contacts available for under-represented groups e.g. ethnic minorities, people that have a disability, lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender individuals, employees that have faith or religious belief needs and more.
  • Common reasons for failure for under-represented (minority) groups.

If you would like to attend this session, booking is not required but you will need to contact Tanya Lines on 01380-734219 or 07866367780 so that numbers of attendees can be accommodated on the day.
