Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Chippenham on April 17th 2013.

The incident took place on Corsham Road, near Lacock, at around 00.05am on Wednesday 17th April 2013 .

The victim was driving his car, a grey Saab 93, through Chippenham town centre when two males from another car got out and approached the victim's vehicle. This occurred at the junction of Hungerdown Lane and Queens Crescent.

The victim then drove away but was chased by the other car through Chippenham and out to Corsham Road, Lacock, where the victim lost control of his car and crashed in a ditch.

Two men then got out of the second car and assaulted the victim - leaving him with minor head injuries which required hospital treatment.

The suspects then got back into the second car and drove away.

This car is described as a dark coloured Citroen Saxo or similar vehicle and the registration plate begins with an 'R'.

The suspects are described as young white males.
