On Friday 8th July 2011, Wilton Neighbourhood Policing Team were proud to host the first "Junior Bluez 'n' Zuz" event in Wiltshire.
This event was held for children aged 9-11 years and aimed to bring children from all backgrounds together for a social event to help with police and youth engagement.
The evening was a great success with a disco, entertainment, competitions and prize draw. Local businesses including Wilton House, Jas hair, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, The Works, Budgens, One Stop and Smyth’s toy shop all supported our event by donating prizes.
The star prizes were two BMX pedal cycles kindly donated by Smyths which were won by Courtney Lodge and Ajay Targett.
PC Rachel Schwender said: ‘Both children were thrilled to win the bikes and Courtney even gave her old bike, which was still fairly new, to a neighbour which made her neighbour very happy!
All the children and the NPT officers had a fun evening and we can’t wait until the next event.’
The next event will be held on Friday 28th October 2011 at the Community Centre in Wilton, tickets will be on sale from the beginning of October. Please call PC 1944 Rachel Schwender or PCSO Ben Brewster at Wilton Police Station for any further information on 0845 408 7000.
