Major Incident Planning
Property Area PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 02 July 2008 19:46

This area is for the collection and recording of all property recovered from the incident scene. A record is kept of where the item was found, the time, and by whom. If possible a photograph should be taken in situ.

A property officer is allocated to have responsibility for recording and storing the property, some of which may be essential in the investigation of the incident or in the identification of casualties. The property area is only for property that was not found with a casualty - that remains with the deceased. The property is protected until examination or the investigation is complete.
