• There are 23 police stations in Swindon and Wiltshire and there are no plans to close any of them. However, we are constantly reviewing how people contact us. Many use the phone. Others use electronic, web-based mechanisms. Many will now contact their local NPTs.
  • We will continue to review the need for police stations and their locations and use by the public, to ensure we provide value for money and a truly local policing service.
  • Buildings themselves do not prevent or detect crime. What matters is providing a visible local policing presence, with a range of ways for people to get in touch with us when they need us.
  • NPTs will be introducing up to 30 new police contact points in the community and this will be another way for the public to contact their local officer.
