What is Operation Harness
Operation Harness is a dedicated operation run by Wiltshire Police working closely with housing associations, drugs services, councils and Trading Standards, council, probation service, fire and rescue, youth offending service and Crimestoppers. The aim of the operation is to reduce crime and disorder in local neighbourhoods through targeted days of action.
The activity began in May 2013 and police will carry out ‘high impact’ days working with the partnership agencies.
Across Swindon and Wiltshire, Operation Harness will crack down on vehicle crime, stolen goods, anti-social behaviour and drugs, targeting those who commit these offences.
Operation Harness needs your help to succeed:
Wiltshire Police rely on information from the public to know where to target criminals. If you have information that would assist police, you can contact us via 101 or if you would prefer to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
In an emergency dial 999.
Cracking down on crime
Wiltshire Police will be carrying out regular crime prevention days throughout the year, targeting those who offend in our county.
We are working with our partners, to bring more offenders to justice and make your community an even safer place to live and work. Please tell us what you would like us to do to reduce crime and help improve your neighbourhood.
- Is there something you think Wiltshire Police should be focusing on as a local priority?
- Is there a crime or anti-social behaviour problem that you are aware of, such as drug dealing, handling stolen goods?
- Do you know who is involved in this or any other criminal activity, such as burglary and vehicle crime?
If you have any suggestions about how we can improve the quality of life for your community, or information about crime or criminals in your area, please get in touch with your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. To find your local team please visit ‘Policing in your area’.
