  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct prohibited by the Act;
  • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it;
  • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.

Specific duties:

The specific duties require public bodies to publish:

  • Information to demonstrate their compliance with the Equality Duty
  • Equality objectives

Equality Information/Data

Wiltshire Police are under a duty to publish equality data at least annually and have a planning cycle which runs from April each year. To ensure that the use of equality data is relevant and integrated into service plans Wiltshire Police will review the data in April 2012 and then annually thereafter.
