Counter Terrorism - About Us

Wiltshire Police, together with police forces throughout the United Kingdom, is now better trained and equipped to combat the threats from terrorism. The Force, as part of an ongoing national counter terrorism strategy, has a dedicated Counter Terrorism Security Adviser (CTSA) who is coordinated, trained and tasked by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), a specialist police organisation located within the National Security Advice Centre (NSAC).

The primary role of the CTSA is to provide protective and counter terrorism security advice to the business community. This advice takes into account both conventional and non-conventional terrorist techniques and is aimed at reducing any vulnerability to terrorist threats. The CTSA works closely with all police forces throughout the country, government departments and other agencies.

By remaining vigilant, being security minded and having good security measures in place, you can protect your business against crime and make the work of terrorists more difficult.

For non urgent crime prevention advice, businesses should contact their local Police Crime Reduction Officer. However, if you feel that your company will benefit from specific counter terrorism security advice, please contact the CTSA.

Wiltshire Police would like to remind you that if you consider anything to be suspicious or connected with terrorism, you should contact the force on 101 and speak to the Operator. If you wish, you can also call the Anti-Terrorist Confidential Hotline on 0800 789 321. IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY REMEMBER TO DIAL 999.
